Our dog, JoJo, loves it when I bake him treats. His favorite treat is chocolate chip cookies without the chocolate chips, of course.
When I bake everything is gluten & dairy free and processed sugar free. So it’s healthy for him. The other night I didn’t have any cookies for him. After dinner JoJo jumped up in the chair at the kitchen table and was waiting very patiently for his treat. He was so adorable. I quickly made him a batch of cookies. He was one happy pup.
Adapted from Elana’s Pantry
- 3/4 cup almond flour
- 1/2 cup brown rice flour
- 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup grape seed oil
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or chocolate chunks
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
In medium size bowl whisk together flour and baking soda. Set aside.
In small mixing bowl whisk vanilla, oil and maple syrup together. Mix into dry ingredients.
Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
Spoon onto parchment lined baking sheet, flatten slightly with damp fingers. Bake at 350 for about 12 minutes. Enjoy!
For doggie treats omit the chocolate and nuts!
